Trento

Trento is a city located in North-Eastern Italy, in the heart of the Italian Alps. It is just below Austria, and not far from cities like Milan, Venice and Verona. With a population of nearly 120,000 inhabitants, Trento is the third largest city in the Alps and second largest in the Tyrol.

The city contains a picturesque Medieval and Renaissance historic district, with ancient buildings such as Trento Cathedral and the Castello del Buonconsiglio.

By plane

There are several national and intercontinental airports located in Northern Italy from where you can reach Trento easily by train or by car.

Verona - Valerio Catullo airport (96,3 km)
This is the large airport closest to Trento. Trento can be reached in about 1 hour by car via the Motorway (A22) or in about 1h 30 min by train. The Verona railway station can be easily reached by shuttle bus everyday of the week leaving every 20 minutes from the airport (tickets can be purchased on board).
Please note that the last train from Verona station to Trento leaves at 10.50 pm.

Venezia - Marco Polo airport (173 Km)
Trento can be reached in about 2 hours via the Motorway (A4 to Verona and then A22 northways or via SS47 Valsugana National road). The airport is well connected to Mestre railway station and Venice Santa Lucia railway station.

Bergamo - Il Caravaggio Orio al Serio airport (180 Km)
This is one of the main italian hubs for low cost airlines. Trento can be reached in about 1h 50min by car (A4 to Verona and the A22 northbound), by several bus services such as flixbus or by train (about 3h 50min).

Milano - Linate airport (226 Km)
Form Linate you can reach Trento in about 2.5 hours by car (A4 and A22) or take the bus or the train to Milan Forlanini train station from where you can connect to Milan Central train station.

Milano - Malpensa airport (264 Km)
Trento can be reached in about 3 hours by car (A4 and A22) or in (about 3.5 hours) by train. From the Malpensa airport either the express train or the shuttle bus allow you to reach Milano Central Station (about 1 hour to get there).

Munich - International airport of Munich (335 km)
Visitors can also consider this airport to reach Trento. Trento can be directly reached by train from Munich and two train lines link the airport to Munich Hauptbahnhof (main station). By train

Reaching Trento by train is a convenient option as it avoids worrying about motorway traffic conditions or weather related issues. Trento is reached by Italian and European long distance trains and its train station is close to the city center. Coming from Venice, you can also use the panoramic Valsugana local railway.

Train tickets can be purchased at the railway station or online. Please note that some train tickets must be validated at the yellow machines available at the platform (binario) before getting on the train. Please note that the last local train from Verona station to Trento leaves at 10.50pm.

By car

Trento can be reached both from the north and south along the A22 Brenner motorway.
